“Let medicine be thy food, and food be thy medicine.”
— Hippocrates of Cos, Greece, 460-377 B.C

All traditional medicines agree that wholesome food, proper exercise and deep breathing are the three pillars of maintaining health and fighting disease. Chinese medicine looks at food as more than a protein, carb or fat. Food has energy, seasonal potency and different foods are medicinal for different people at different times. Weston A. Price is another source of inspiration for the way Tracy prescribes recipes, cooking techniques and nutritional supplements. Dr. Price’s work was inspired by extensive research into traditional cooking from around the world in the early 20th century and compliments much of the thinking in traditional Chinese medicine.

While traditional concepts are key, modern research fills out the information that guides the best decisions for nutrition. Tracy stays up with the latest research, and will work with you to determine the most effective ways to use food to heal, nourish and sustain you.

When intervention with food isn’t enough, then traditional Chinese herbal formulas are prescribed to bring balance to your system and potentiate the acupuncture and moxibustion. Tracy completed a two-year intensive post-graduate training in classical herbal medicine with the Institute of Classics in East Asian Medicine. Most of the herbal formulas she uses are over 1800 years old. Their efficacy and safety, with proper diagnosis, are well attested.
